Terms of Use

Duowenwen explains problems from photos and lets you keep asking; it never does or hands in homework. Under 14 needs guardian consent.

The Duowenwen team · Updated

By using Duowenwen, you agree to what's on this page. We've tried to write it in words both parents and children can follow.

What does Duowenwen provide?

Two things: explaining a problem from a photo, and "Keep Asking" afterwards. You take a photo of a problem, and we transcribe it, answer it and explain it; after that we offer a few follow-up questions, and your child can keep asking, building a question map. We explain the problem for the parent; we don't write your child's homework or hand it in.

Who can use it?

It is for students aged 10-18 and their parents. Children under 14 need guardian consent, and the guardian must register with their own email address and set up access for the child. Please confirm this truthfully when you register.

How does pricing work, and how do refunds work?

Your first login on a new account comes with 100 credits, enough for one full problem, and you only get them once. After that, one problem costs 60 credits (4-6 photos cost 90 credits, 7-9 photos cost 120 credits; in fast mode 40, 60 and 80), which includes the explanation and 3 follow-up questions; each extra question is 8 credits, and a chat reply is 4; in chat mode, the first reply to your photos is 8 credits for 1–3 photos, 12 for 4–6 and 16 for 7–9, then 4 per reply. If a problem can't be explained, the credits are refunded automatically. On the English site, credit packs and monthly passes are priced in US dollars and paid by card; any applicable tax is shown at checkout. Credits you haven't spent and a monthly pass you haven't started using can be refunded on request, back to the original payment method; portions already used are not refunded. The explanation on the payment page applies.

What is not allowed?

You may not use it during an exam; upload other people's photos, homework or private information; try to make it say what it shouldn't; or resell accounts or scrape content in bulk. If you do any of these, we will suspend the account, and unused charges are handled as described in the previous section.

What are you responsible for if an explanation is wrong?

We do our best to keep explanations accurate, but it may misread a problem, miscalculate or quote the wrong page. Explanations are only an aid to understanding; the textbook and the teacher are the authority. We are not responsible for homework marks or exam results, and we don't promise your child will definitely learn it.

Can the terms change?

Yes. When they change, we update the date on this page; for significant changes that affect payments or minors, we will write to you in advance. If you keep using Duowenwen after a change, that means you accept the new terms.

Who do I contact with questions?

Write to support@duowenwen.ai. Refunds, account deletion and guardian confirmation are all handled by email.

Next: the privacy notice is on another page; if you have no other questions, go and photograph a problem.
